I am looking forward to meeting some of you in Las Vegas this week at David Shepherd’s Designing Profits seminar. Although I am not participating in the entire event, we may see each other at the award ceremony tomorrow or the cocktail party on Thursday.

There are a few important meetings happening for me this week, one with David Bassett-Parkins, Founder and CEO of Ava Living. The second meeting is with Lance Haeberle, creative genius and Founder of StudioIT software for interior design firms and showrooms. I have been using Lance’s product for years and it is the best on the market.

If you want a streamlined system to manage your design firm, this is the gold standard for our industry. I have used Quick Books…not industry-specific enough, and Design Manager which is not as easy to use as Lance’s product. Let me know if you would like to hear more about it.

My third meeting is with Alexandra Gibson with Gibson Design Management. If you missed the teleseminar with Alexandra that happened a few weeks ago, just go to our replay page and click on the link. Alexandra has an outsourcing firm that specializes in CAD services and expediting for interior designers. This is a fascinating conversation, so you don’t want to miss it.

I will be attending the cocktail party on Thursday, too, so if any of you are going as well, be sure and say hello.

David Bassett-Parkins will be one of our speakers for the “big event” in October. He will be talking about Social Networking to grow your business. We are extremely excited about this event as it will be the first of its kind for our industry. Be sure to watch for the details later this month.
