Some great tips and thoughts, Gail! I love that quote that Debi posted about the caterpillar - I've seen it before and it's a great reminder to hang in there and keep focused on the beauty that surrounds us each day. Like you, inspiration & new ideas often come from some unexpected sources - a random meeting with someone, a brief conversation, a trip to an art gallery or museum, a beautiful card, a walk with my dogs down a country road, a beautiful sunrise or sunset, or a great book. I think it's important to stay focused on all the positive things that we have to be grateful for, and even in a bad or challenging situation, we can learn from the experience, gain some new insights, and hopefully, move forward.
I enjoy your posts!

Thank you, Debi. It's a focus every day to be positive...I like that book, too. Your
caterpillar quote is also quite good and appropriate for these times.

Thanks to Gail and Faith - you are the new "Power of Positive Thinking" people (I may be showing my age here by referencing that book!). As a kitchen designer, I have to admit that I really don't like magnets on refrigerators, but I must admit to one magnet in my kitchen (on my brisker, which indidentally is a great small appliance for moist climates)... it says, "Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly". For most of us, our best, most creative days are still ahead!

Gail, we must be on a wave length. This long weekend was good for me to return to some journals, books, saved inspirations and the like.

First, I read 'The Dip' by Seth Godin which really challenged my focus and questions. I highly recommend it.

Next, I found a 'saved' affirmation, 'Grateful for some-Grateful for more'.

A few months ago I visited an artist's studio and commented on an affirmation she had made with her paint brush propped on her desk. It goes like this:
Expect every need to be met; expect an answer to every problem; expect abundance at every level; expect to grow spiritually.
I think she must have understood I needed that message so she gave it to me.
You are always an inspiration to me! Thanks, Faith

So true. It is something to remember each day and when we catch ourselves focusing on our "issues," it is important to change our thinking and ask what we learned from that experience.

Great thoughts, Gail! I do believe what we focus on is what comes into existence! No one likes to admit/look at bad choices and the results but those can be our greatest teachers!
