How are you doing with your own details that help you get more traffic to your website?
I wrote an article about your interior design photos a few weeks ago, and in addition to this, you also want to make sure you’re getting mileage/traffic to your website from your photos.
How do you do this?
It’s very easy. You add an alt-tag to each photo.
What is an interior design photo alt-tag? If you look at a website that has photos, and you roll your mouse over the photo, if a text description of the photo pops up over the photo, that is an alt-tag.
Interior design photos tend to get higher rankings than blog posts, so be sure you use them with alt-tags so the search engines like Google and Yahoo! index them.
Be sure to check with your webmaster to see that they are using keywords that are appropriate for your business. If you are a commercial interior designer, use a phrase like this: “jane-doe-commercial-interior-design-buffalo.”
Every photo should have an alt-tag. Are we perfect? No. We’re working on updating all of our photos, too.
If you don’t have a list of keywords for your business, make that a priority. You should target at least 10 – 20 keywords that apply to your business.
Write blog posts related to that keyword and then use your “anchor links” which are hyperlinks to connect to pages within your site that are relevant to that keyword. Repeat the keyword like “interior design photos” in your blog post. The keyword density should be about 5% of the post, and can be altered like this, “photos of interior design projects.”
